Description
Lansoprazole 15mg Gastro-resistant Capsules by Teva are used to treat conditions related to excess stomach acid. These include acid reflux (GERD), heartburn, stomach ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Lansoprazole belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which work by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
Each capsule contains 15mg of Lansoprazole, and the gastro-resistant coating ensures the medicine is absorbed effectively without being broken down in the stomach.
It’s often prescribed as part of a combination therapy for Helicobacter pylori infections and to prevent ulcers in people taking NSAIDs (like ibuprofen).
This medication is generally well tolerated, though side effects can include headache, nausea, constipation, or abdominal pain.
Do not take this medication if you are allergic to lansoprazole or any other PPI. It should be taken exactly as prescribed, usually before a meal.
